New York workers' comp mileage reimbursement rate
Traveling to the doctor, the pharmacy, or an insurer's medical exam for your work injury? You're entitled to be reimbursed for that travel — including mileage in your own car.
Key facts
- Personal-vehicle mileage: 72.5¢ per mile for travel on or after January 1, 2026 (70¢ in 2025).
- Also reimbursable: public transportation, tolls, and parking.
- Covers travel to treatment, the pharmacy, and Independent Medical Exams.
- Submit Form C-257 to the insurance carrier to get paid.
How to claim it
- Keep a simple log: date, where you went, and the round-trip miles (or transit fare / parking / tolls).
- Fill out Form C-257 (Claimant's Record of Medical and Travel Expenses and Request for Reimbursement) and send it to the carrier.
- Reimbursement is for necessary travel related to your work injury — keep receipts for transit, tolls, and parking.
