WorkersCompDecoded is published by Resultex Media Group LLC, an independent publisher of plain-language guides to complex government systems. We are not a law firm, an insurance carrier, or a lead-generation business, and we take no money from insurers, employers, or attorneys to influence what you read here.

Our sourcing standard

Every rate, week count, deadline, and dollar figure on this site is drawn from a primary source — the New York State Workers' Compensation Board (wcb.ny.gov) or the New York Workers' Compensation Law itself — and each page links the sources it relies on. We don't paraphrase other blogs; we go to the statute.

How we build the data

Benefit rates: the maximum/minimum weekly-benefit history comes from the Board's Schedule of Maximum Weekly Benefit; each year's figure is two-thirds of the State Average Weekly Wage, fixed by date of injury.
Schedule Loss of Use & LWEC caps: the week schedules are the statutory values in WCL §15(3) and §15(3)(w).
Calculators: apply the statutory formula (⅔ × average weekly wage × disability %), then clamp to the correct year's maximum and minimum. They are estimates for orientation, not a substitute for a Board award.
Deadlines & process: cited to their governing statute (e.g., WCL §18, §28, §25) and the Board's current claimant guidance.

Kept currentWorkers' comp rates change every July 1 and the law changes with legislation. We date every page and revise when the Board updates its figures. The rate that governs any individual claim is the one in effect on that worker's date of injury — which is why we publish the full history, not just this year's number.
